Education, creativity, and inclusion

Turbanti is a photography project promoted by Accademia del Lusso in collaboration with Modelli si Nasce, the only organization in Italy dedicated to the training and professional placement of young autistic people in the fashion industry. Conceived and curated under the creative direction of teacher, artist, and stylist Cosmo Muccino Amatulli, with photography by Roberto Autuori, the project was born as a hands-on educational experience within the Fashion Styling & Communication course, where creativity, aesthetic research, and social responsibility are translated into project practice and artistic production.

When and where

The exhibition is kindly hosted in the rooms of the Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi, a prestigious space dedicated to decorative arts, costume, and Italian fashion. It takes place with the patronage of the Department of Major Events, Sport, Tourism and Fashion of Roma Capitale.

  • From 23 March to 30 April 2026
  • Casa Museo Boncompagni Ludovisi, Via Boncompagni 18, Rome

The project

The protagonists of the exhibition are the exclusive headpieces created by the students of Accademia del Lusso and worn by the young men and women of the Modelli si Nasce association: symbolic creations that become an expression of identity and self-determination. The images deliver intense and authentic portraits, capable of telling the story of the person beyond any stereotype.

The meaning of the title

The title Turbanti holds a dual meaning: the turban as a symbol of identity and personal strength, and the verb to disturb (in Italian, "turbare") as an invitation to question social conventions and expectations. The project renews our perspective and promotes a culture based on the acceptance and enhancement of differences.

A project that showcases the Accademia del Lusso method

Turbanti represents the outcome of an educational journey that integrates learning by doing, engagement with the professional world, and attention to contemporary themes of inclusion and cultural responsibility. An experience that proves how the Fashion Styling & Communication course trains professionals capable of combining creative vision, technical skills, and awareness.
