ACCADEMIA DEL LUSSO RECORDS POSITIVE WORK TRANSITION DATA AND HOLDS ITS FIRST CAREER DAY

Milan, 30th May 2019 Accademia del Lusso, the high-level school for young talents who want to undertake a career in the fashion and luxury system in Italy or abroad, held its first Career Day on 29th May 2019. The event took place at the Luxury Lab on Via Privata Chioggia, where most of the school’s classes and workshops take place, with the aim of connecting the academic world with the professional one and allowing its students evermore direct access to the job market.

The event hosted a range of leading businesses in the fashion and design sectors as well as companies in the segment of luxury product distribution.

The Career Day proved to be an important opportunity for students on the European Bachelor’s Degree programmes and Master’s courses, allowing them to obtain information, share experiences, and discover internship and work opportunities thanks to the direct contact with company employers. During the day there were numerous one-to-one interviews during which students had the chance to put their talent on display and hand over their CVs.

This new initiative organised by Accademia del Lusso will form part of the various activities which are aimed at further promoting the transition to work of its students. The initiative already boasts good numbers; going by the latest data which refers to the 2018 academic year, students who attended a European Bachelor’s Degree course have an impressive rate of employment. In detail, 67% of fashion product design students and 86% of fashion styling students are currently employed, and an impressive 100% of fashion design graduates are today stylists for big fashion magazines or designers and collaborators in the style offices of high-end fashion brands. Even more encouraging is the data for the transition to work of students on the year-long Master’s Courses, with a percentage that ranges between 83% – 100%.

Barbara LG Sordi, Head of Studies at Accademia del Lusso Milan, stated: “We are extremely satisfied by the participation and the enthusiasm the students have shown towards this new initiative organised by Accademia del Lusso. The Career Day proved to be a very positive step, a win-win formula which had the objective of building a bridge between students and high-end work environments. Accademia del Lusso has always had as a priority the preparation of its students for the work of work, through a tailor-made education. This first Career Day represented an important launch pad for the students and is a clear sign that confirms the continuous commitment of our school to guaranteeing an occupation and a solid future for its students.”
