OBJECTIVES
Businesses in the fashion system are currently characterised by the significant complexity of the production chain and of the sales process as a result of the large number of products and end markets.
Accademia del Lusso’s Master's Degree aims to develop professionals who can enter the product area of companies in the fashion sector. The course provides not only general knowledge on various business issues, but also specific technical skills in the area of industrial fashion production. It also provides the tools to work on the product in coordination with the needs of the market.
The dynamics studied as part of the training regard the luxury goods market and, significantly, the fashion industry, considering the specifics of the product process to which they refer.
CAREER EXAMPLES
To ensure the functional activities are acting in coordination with the objectives to be reached, it is increasingly important to introduce new organisational roles responsible for inter-functional integration, including the Product Manager.
This position is responsible for product development, planning and sample creation. The activities falling under this role are rather broad, from feasibility evaluation of proposals from various business functions, styling, production and marketing, through the organisation of a product line, as well as being responsible for the related financial results.
The Product Manager working in the fashion industry is also noticeably involved in the product’s technical aspects and works with the research area and the styling office as well as the sales office.
Specifically, the course aims to develop individuals for the roles of Product Manager, Fashion Coordinator, Buyer, Research Consultant and Production Technician.
EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
The course includes classroom lessons, theoretical-practical activities performed in modules, and learning lab activities, including projects, workshops and seminars held by visiting professors, company visits, participation in industry exhibitions and trade shows. Each classroom training module includes a progress examination. The programme concludes with a final exam.
INTERNSHIP
After attaining the certificate of participation, the students will evaluate the opportunity of carrying out an internship of an average of 520 hours with a company in the sector, organised by qualified and authorised individuals in accordance with laws in force, together with Accademia’s Placement Office.
