Dream of working in fashion as an expert of style and image? Ready to flourish in an inspiring environment at the heart of Italian fashion?

The 3-Year Course in Fashion Styling & Communication at Accademia del Lusso is a multi-disciplinary and industry-relevant course combining two of the most dynamic and fast-paced areas of fashion: styling and communication.

With a vast range of professional opportunities in many different areas such as photography, film-making, styling, journalism, public relations, event management, image or research consultant (and the list continues), this course will open the doors to a world of possibilities that will allow you to go way beyond your ambitions for a successful career in fashion.

At Accademia del Lusso, right at the heart of Italy’s undisputed fashion capital Milan, you will be taught by working professionals from the fashion and luxury sector, who will enable you to develop your own personal expression within a setting that is an unending source of inspiration and influence alongside students from Italy and across the globe.

Over the past number of years, new media and technology have revolutionised how fashion is seen and communicated, and led to an increase in the demand for fashion communication and styling professionals. Both of these areas demand visionary, adaptable, and informed individuals who are experts in words and image.

The varied and forward-looking international programme of the 3-Year Course in Fashion Styling & Communication at Accademia del Lusso plunges you into the dynamic and fast-paced worlds of both of these areas, providing you with specialist skills that are also transferable across other career paths.

In the luxury world, communication is a strategic lever that is becoming ever-more indispensable. Our course teaches you to convey, update, tell the story of, and promote the essence of brands on the main traditional and online media channels. You will learn to manage activities linked to advertising and other branding and promotional tasks, as well as how to manage investments and define the best marketing strategies.

The fashion stylist designs and takes care of the brand or fashion collection image through photoshoots, fashion shows, events, advertising campaigns, or publishing or communication projects. The styling part of the course enables you to use your creativity and technical knowledge to be able to build a unique and exclusive image by interpreting brand identity, values and aesthetics. You will learn to recognise and anticipate seasonal trends and to realise the importance of always being up-to-date on the current fashion scene.

Subject areas include topics such as the history of art, and an overview of fashion and design, to lay the foundation for you to develop your skills and knowledge, and giving you critical awareness of the social, cultural and historical factors that influence the professional environments in which you will work. You will gain specialist knowledge and methodology in areas from graphic design to writing techniques, art direction to event management, publishing to business management. This will all serve to help you develop and finalise your final project, which will form part of the professional profile you will present to companies once you have graduated.

Once you have gained the 180 ECTS and have completed the necessary language requirements, E.A.B.H.E.S. will validate your studies and issue you with a European Bachelor of Fashion Design (EBFD) Major: Fashion Styling & Communication.

What is a European Bachelor’s Degree?
This is an academic degree awarded for an undergraduate course (equivalent to the first level of higher education) that generally lasts three years. It corresponds to the accumulation of at least 180 ECTS credits in the student’s chosen field of study.

The European Bachelor is accredited by E.A.B.H.E.S. (European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools). The European Bachelor’s Degree is recognised in affiliated and non-affiliated Universities and Higher Education Schools, and improves students’ geographical mobility, both in terms of either studies or their professional careers. These degrees are a genuine European passport to the working world.

Who is E.A.B.H.E.S.?
E.A.B.H.E.S. (European Accreditation Board of Higher Education Schools) is a private accreditation board providing external evaluation and consultancy services to European Higher Education institutions in applying Higher Education recommendations resulting from the Bologna Declaration of June 19, 1999.

Language Certificate

Non-native English speakers are required to take a test of English as a Foreign Language in order to validate the European Bachelor. This test may be taken after completion of the course, but it is a strict requirement. We recommend that you complete this test during your studies, rather than at the end of your course. Native English speakers, or students who have never studied English as a Foreign Language before, are required to complete an international language certification at the same level in Italian or in one of the primary languages of the European Union. More information about language certificates can be found in the Student User’s Guide downloadable by clicking the link at the bottom of this page, or by contacting our Admissions Office through the online form.
